Irving Klaw began selling pin-up fotos in the 1950s, many of which featured the legendary Bettie Page. When this guy began to get requests from his customers for photos of angels in what would this day be considered S & M and tying situations, this guy complied. Making 16mm films out of his own home featuring Bettie and other glamour cuties of the era, Klaw created an oeuvre which today's obsession material proceeds to reference. Much of this work was burned when Klaw was accused of purveying pornography, and the films collected here are rarities not previously obtainable. Surreal and strangely virginal, the films and images are obviously staged in someone's basement, during the time that the fetishwear--not widely attainable in these days--was mostly homemade, lending the work an immediacy and delicate intimacy not to be discovered in similar, greater amount contemporary, films.
